Bellydance classes

It is traditional in the Middle East to have a bellydancer dance at your wedding. A bellydancer creates a real sense of excitement and, like having a sweep in this country, it is considered a lucky fertility symbol. The couple are often photographed with their hands on the bellydancer’s tummy as a symbol of luck in fertility.

This is your special day and we will do everything we can to make it perfect for you. The dancer will take time to discuss your requirements with you in advance and offer suggestions if you wish. She will show you a choice of costumes in different colours so you can choose one that works with your wedding colour scheme.

A shamadan (candelabra headdress) is a wonderful tradition at weddings in Egypt. The bellydancer leads the newly wedded couple in, to the music of the Arabic wedding march or Zaffa and accompanied by the ululations of the female guests. Charlotte Desorgher can perform with a lighted shamadan if your venue allows it and provide a live drummer for the zaffa.

You will need to provide a sound system of some kind and somewhere with a mirror for the dancer to change.
